Greates portable, its needed for me as part time computer technician. Easy my work.
Thanks for review.
Unfortunately, it seems that new 3.0 version does not work on work on Windows 2000. After launch the following error message is displaying: "A43.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows."
This program is very good. Thanks for developing it.
What I like best about it is it's File/Folder Search function. Searching is simple enough to be non-fussy, yet advanced enough to search system files/folders and deal with hidden files. SearchMyFiles might be slightly more advanced, but it's good to use each one under different circumstances.
I had some trouble in Vista when I assigned it's Link's folder to be the same as the Windows QuickLauch folder, posssibly using symbolic links, but maybe that was too experimental of me; I stopped using Vista anyhow.
A43.exe works with XP SP3. I remapped my multimedia QWERTY keyboard to launch A43.exe instead of the default explorer search function.
For a time I experimented with A43.exe as a Windows Explorer Shell replacement. It does work as such, so for a no-frills, low-resource-consumption interface it's fine. It's a good example of just how minimal an interface can be without being difficult or uncomfortable to use.
Thanks to the author for using .ini files instead of the dreaded Registry.
I have been so waiting for an update on this.
Has some ways to go - especially with speed.
Please keep developing it.
Thanks.
RE:Ken
you can manipulate between F7 & F8 as well
"technicolordreamcoat"
ini file is in the root of the distribution.
as for the viewing pane: View > Splitter
A43 needs redesign on their memory management. When I copy or move large file across network, it will stop transfer data when A43's menu is pulled down. Even plain Window Explorer knows how to separate these two tasks. Very dangerous on file transfer since file might get corrupt when menu is in focus. This is on 2 gig RAM with E6600 Core 2 Duo.
Ennovy: updated, thanks
