Cannot confirm the stealth-entry: I use MadEdit 0.2.9.1 for years now and never encountered this behavior. Nothing launches upon clicking options. It's completely stealth :-)

MadEdit has several «killer» features not to be seen in any other single text editor.
• True CP437 is available: which makes MadEdit ideal for printing files created from the WordStar-like VDE editor. CP437 allows use of box draw characters. If the resulting CP437 file is copied and pasted over to Notepad, then saved as UTF-8 (ideally with _UTF8.txt suffixed to the original file name), the result is available to everybody.
• MadEdit allows ending each line with hard returns. That means that a UTF8.txt file as eMail attachment becomes a click-on with exactly the line length of the original.
• MadEdit’s print preview is superb.
• Print with desired dial-up line spacing. Lucida Console for example with 115% line spacing actually looks good.
• Install e.g. CutePDF and create economically sized PDFs from MadEdit. What you see in print preview is what the PDF will look like.

Sincerely, Roger

It's great editor! The default settings are not the best ones, but this can be corrected easily for few minutes after the first start. The only feature which I really miss there are bookmarks.

This editor is useful with its column-edit mode, which is not commonly found in other editors.

When it reaches v1.0 it can be better than even EmEditor.

Wow, the most half-assed syntax highlighting i have ever seen. They HIGHLIGHT SPACES! They highlight everything in Divs and Paragraphs GRAY!
