TAudioConverter 0.9.6 (0.9.6 Build 3774) has been just released.

BGM on 2014-08-22 14:50

Hey, if you all use the installer, be careful! It has some very subtle "other" stuff bundled in there. Make sure you read every panel. "Other" stuff includes "Search Protect" and "Trovi Search" which changes your search pages and home pages. PUSH SKIP. There is another one that tries to install (but I can't get it to do it after cancelling the installation once) and you have to push "disagree" in order not to install it.

Installer do not contain ads as of version 0.9.7.

good program!

NickR on 2015-04-06 17:36

@moronoxyd I agree

I found that
it Write-Tests to Free space only
so no file data will be lost or overwritten

a useful utility for finding the best SD card for the job

Cereal_Nommer on 2018-06-28 12:59

@moronoxyd @NickR
The tool only writes to space the drive shows as free. On a fake SD card that's likely not going to be the same thing as the actual free space. If a fake card reports a larger free space and the tests continue to write to flash, some fakes wrap it back around so newer files overwrite the beginning of the space so the newest files will be most likely to still work.
Unless you're testing known good SD cards it's very important to backup anything on the card you're not willing to lose permanently.

AutoCompress v1.4.1.23

Andrew Lee on 13 Jul 2023
  • 65KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 30 May 2014
  • Suggested by Andrew Lee

AutoCompress intelligently compresses/decompresses drive content based on whether the compression will actually save space. For example, JPG and MP3 already have built-in compression, while text and spreadsheets frequently reduce to 50% or less of their original size. The program can also compress based on age or size, scanning all folders recursively under the provided folder (by default c:\).

The program can also disable compression based on the reverse criteria: since files that are already compressed take more processor power to decompress twice, this program can speed up your computer.

This program requires an NTFS-formatted drive.

NOTE: Homepage is down, linking to Softpedia.

Category:
Runs on:WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7
Writes settings to: None
Dependencies: Only functional on NTFS-formatted media
Stealth: ? No. Writes incidental settings file to User>Local Settings>Application Data>SteelBytes as well as the app folder.
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch AutoCompress.exe.
