I appreciate that AlephX! But some information needs to be updated here, like:AlephX wrote:Thanks, Abid, TPFC updated!
This is not true anymore, XYplorer runs on every system starting Win98 till Vista x64. GDI+ is merely needed for previewing *.PNG and *.TIF files. See link.1) Note that on non-XP systems, XYplorer requires the GDI+ DLL to run.
All features are available for 30 days now. See link.2) Certain features are disabled for the freeware version and requires paid registration to activate.
Additionally, XYPlorerFree (http://www.xyplorer.com/free.php) can be used for personal and commercial use too!!
Re: XYplorerFree 5.55.0001
I tried to download this from the application website and failed.
I of course found the download hosted at TPFC and the link in the comments.
I also found this http://portableapps.com/node/21578
This is a young project at over six months old and six development releases.
It works fine for me so far.
In case reading all comments at the PortableApps.com forums website is too much here is a teaser; "URL, HTML and HTM file associations added for Firefox Portable."

Re: XYplorerFree 5.55.0001
http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=579NOTE: this is the last free version.
Did a search for the last freeware version without success. Anyone know where we can find one?
Re: XYplorerFree 5.55.0001
Thanks Joby. Should we just leave it be until they switch?
Re: XYplorerFree 5.55.0001
I guess so ...
Here is the MD5 signature for the free 5.55.0002 version (the .zip package):

As always, it's completely portable.
Enjoy!

Re: XYplorerFree
At the time of this message, only the install version is the free one. Zip and rar packages contain the full trial version of the app. So you need to extract the installer using 7zip or similar and change the content of the file Startup.ini to
or similar, so the settings stay with the exe.
You can also simply delete it.
Code: Select all
[Appdata]
Path=Data
You can also simply delete it.

- I can confirm this: at http://www.xyplorer.com/free.php, only the installer produced XYplorerFree (5 970 056 B executable file for v13.60), so-called 'no-install' archives contain XYplorer trial executables (6 033 408 B).
Also, XYplorerFree seems impervious to INI file edits -- everything reverts to default after re-run.
Re: XYplorerFree
It's been fixed now. Apparently he accidentily included the wrong executable when he packaged them for the no-install version.Midas wrote:joby_toss wrote:At the time of this message, only the install version is the free one. Zip and rar packages contain the full trial version of the app.

Also, impervious to INI file edits? It's working perfectly fine for me. Which one are you editing? The Startup.ini or the main XYplorer.ini in the data folder?
Re: XYplorerFree
Actually if you're talking about Startup.ini, don't bother. Just delete that file. XYplorer will automatically save the Data folder where the main executable is located.
