Re: PlainEdit
Old topic update: the present one is now PlainEdit (https://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1357) official forum topic -- please note that currently TPFC's entry lists non-DotNET PlainEdit v1.7.6.1, while the homesite only displays the DotNET PlainEdit (v1.4.2); the download is correct, though.

Re: PlainEdit (DotNET text editor)
Topic update: PlainEdit v2.0 released (German only changelog at https://gaijin.at/de/software/plainedit#changelog).
Beware: "This version is incompatible with earlier versions and may not be copied over older versions. (This affects PlainEdit.NET 1.5.1 or earlier, as well as PlainEdit 1.6.7.1 or earlier)." (emphasis added).
In a rare example nowadays, PlainEdit retains its DotNET dependency at v2 and asks the user on first launch about portable settings (see below); alas, there's no URL activation and the help file is German only, plus there are a few minor typos here and there in the UI. Highlight to the fact that it automatically generates hashes for any files loaded (again, see below).

Re: PlainEdit - text editor
PlainEdit web page is down, and I cannot find another source for v2.2.
Internet Archive does not have it, and the last capture page in Sep 2019 says development has stopped for the software.

Couldn't find it either. Last PlainEdit[.NET] version at Softpedia is v1.7.6:
Re: PlainEdit - text editor
I don't have a local copy and the best option I could find was Midas' Softpedia link.
I was really worried that gaijin.at was offline (it's not) so that was a relief, they just cut links to that program.

Re: PlainEdit - text editor
Very convenient is sublime text 3, easy to configure, there are a lot of supported languages
Vscode is also quite convenient.
Thank you very much for the software

Sublime Text (viewtopic.php?t=16943) isn't really freeware.
