[Anonymous] CyberCeedI'm EXTREMELY impressed with this app... so much so that I have associated it with 4 file types on my PCs! It is very configurable and has some exciting features, such as, A-Z and Z-A sort, remove duplicate lines, RegExp matching, etc.. Congrats to the author!! So far... I HIGHLY recommend it! [2007-09-21 07:04]

[Anonymous] CyberCeedThe only feature that I wish were implemented is the ability to double-click on a URL and have it open the default system browser as in MetaPad... another great editor. [2007-09-21 23:24]

[Anonymous] VikingdreadI've been a (web)developer for years and imo nothing beats PSPad. (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=15)

The only thing missing in PSPad is code-collapsing, but that's about it.

It runs beautifully from a USB stick and although it is packed with features, it is intuitive and a pleasure to use

[Anonymous] nickoftimeI agree with Jibo and keebler - this one is a keeper - very stable and fast. Nice work, Gaijin! [2007-12-24 08:00]

[Anonymous] Sundance KidI just noticed a setting in the "Extras --> Settings" dialog box, on the "Integration" tab.
There's a checkbox to "Add to the Windows recent files menu".

It's probably a good idea to un-check it.

[Anonymous] ri like plainedit... one thing that bugs me about it is its "Find" window.

it docks to the bottom of the screen and stays there until you use the keyboard shortcut to hide it again...

does anyone know if there is a way to change this?

[Anonymous] RogerI especially like the extensive configuration possibilities. The HELP file is in German (my 2d language), but don't let that stop you. The config file (INI) is in the same directory where you install it (in my case, to flash-drive). Looks like you can create hot-key short-cuts for virtually everything. Exiting by the Notepad standard (tap ALT, tap f, tap x) seems not to work, though from the menu it should work. Save by CTRL+S same as in Notepad; exit by ALT+F4.

Looks like the company as a whole has a lot of good programs.

[Anonymous] GBJIt won't display RTF files. If you want this ability in a great text editor, try Metapad (free) available at: http://liquidninja.com/metapad/ [2008-10-08 07:06]

[Anonymous] ExoThis Editor is glorious!
Ive searched an Editor that can open more than thousand textfiles without any loss of speed and finnaly I found PlainEdit.
 [2008-10-11 15:55]

[Anonymous] Carbonize@GBJ - Thats because an RTF file (Rich Text Format) is a word processor document such as produced by Word, Wordpad etc and this program is a text editor.

@Exo - Why the hell would you want to open more than a hundred text files at a time let alone over a thousand?

Anyway just tried this and it has some bugs in rendering such as the edge of letters being cut off by the next letter and some characters being coloured wrongly until you highlight them at which point they change to the correct colour.

If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
