Starter is IMHO the most convenient startup manager... I use it very frequently and today I decided to give it a fresher look with a new set of toolbar icons (32x RGB/A)... Click on the thumbnail below to preview.
It only took a few minutes work but it looks almost like a different program... A bit like when you buy new alloy rims for your car
If anybody is interested to add this 36 KB .bmp file to the "Data" folder and enjoy the new toolbar, feel free to download it here: File name: A&A 32x.bmp File size: 36.05 KB

Had to look up Starter! Here's the link:

is it stealth?
Re: Starter (THE startup manager) needed a new toolbar
Does it show the 64 bit apps entries? It didn't last time I checked!

The PFC entry is here: http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=448
I don't think a new set of icons are necessary, but comparing them side by side, its clear that Spicydog's addition is a real improvement. Has someone contacted the developer about perhaps swapping out the icon set?

Pity that the icons of the context menu (within Starter) cannot be skinned just as easily... It would be nice if they could reflect the toolbar icons.
Re: Starter (THE startup manager) needed a new toolbar
The mail I sent to "CodeStuff@CodeStuff.cjb.net" appears to be undelivered according to the MAILER-DAEMON notification (which took 2 days to come back to me)
Does anybody know another way to contact the developer?
Thanks

Re: Starter (THE startup manager) needed a new toolbar
I used Starter for long time.. it is very good and simple.. but I finally moved to the more essential WhatInStartup, with the same features of startup managing in a minimalistic interface (and only 72KB of size!).
ps: I think the author stopped the development..

Yes, I know that but posts (of any relevance) on that forum are so outdated that would indicate the forum has been sort of abandoned... That's why I tried via mail, but hey, being the toolbar icon set only a cosmetic issue I guess that insisting any further does not make much sense.webfork wrote:The author isn't a regular here on the forums, but does have a forum:spicydog wrote:Does anybody know another way to contact the developer?

You never know, maybe "The Lion" one day will accidentally see this thread and decide to swap the icons as you indicated earlier
Re: Starter (THE startup manager) needed a new toolbar
I agree, WhatInStartup (mine is 46KB btw) is also very nice but I like Starter's "Processes" and "Services" tabs tooLupo73 wrote:I used Starter for long time.. it is very good and simple.. but I finally moved to the more essential WhatInStartup, with the same features of startup managing in a minimalistic interface (and only 72KB of size!).
