We'll just list it like SpiderPlayer, which had a registry code step. Otherwise I'd label it as freeware for personal use.

There is a new version of ClipDiary- 4.02, but I could not find what is new.

I think that I or someone else should update the database entry of ClipDiary since ClipDiary Free is not getting any updates and the Free license for personal use page is still working.

I got it fixed.

I'm so enamored with my clipboard editor of choice, I forget that other programs can have some good things to offer. This is a solid program with some really impressive features. In particular, I noted how this includes a program-driven blocklist, which I remember Ghacks or FWG bemoaning.

I'm a big fan of Ditto. It's a reasonably easy setup but the functionality available by playing with the settings is impressive.

I did some more testing and I'm even more impressed by the design, interface, available hotkeys, usability, and settings. I like the label grouping, drag and drop, advanced search, the ability to copy file names when you copy files. Even the paste cycle tool is great and it uses just slightly more RAM than Ditto.

This is very well designed with a lot of thought put into it. I'm only disappointed I didn't test this out before.

Wishlist:

HIGH
* Separate security tab in the options menu with the database password and application block list
* Optional image thumbnails with customizable size

LOW
* Ability to edit individual clips or open clips in a given editor (e.g. images open in a graphics editor, text in notepad++)
* (Optional) ability to scroll up to older clips

For a workaround to the first issue, I can suggest right clicking the desired entry, selecting "Advanced | Save to file" from context menu, editing the resulting file in the system default program and re-clipping it afterwards.

As for the second, I have set Shift+Up or Down Arrow as shortcut for scrolling through previous clips while displaying them, so I seldom need to call ClipDiary's UI -- but you can try Alt+Left or Right Arrow when scroll up/down gets stunted... the number of clips per page is an option, too.

To all ClipDiary and Ditto fans,

For 10 years I was using different clipboard managers for saving history of clips. Now time has come and I have made my own clipboard manager - Clip Angel (freeware, open source) for Windows viewtopic.php?t=23338 . It was inspired by AceText, ClipDiary, Ditto (my favorites). It make paste in most reliable way, so it can paste in RDP, CMD, elevated windows independently from current input language. It has the most convenient filter by clip text I ever saw. It allows viewing RTF and HTML formatting. Give it a try.

These two added features in 5.1 version make it well worth trying it:

BTW: For TEXT and CODE copy-pasting ClipDiary is just how it all should be IMHO.

Quick note about a Clipdiary feature I hadn't noticed until recently: it now doubles as a basic screenshoter -- if you capture anything with the 'PrtSc' (or 'Alt+PrtSc') keys, you can then save the image to file via the context menu "Advanced | Save to file..." option; image info will be included in the filename.

FYI, although I'm still on v3.7, Clipdiary still is my primary clipboard manager after all those years; mainly for its overall unbeaten convenience and ease of use...
