LAN Speed Test (Lite) measures local area network transfer speeds by writing a file of any size to a folder of your choice, then clearing Windows' file cache (otherwise read times would be skewed). Next, it reads the file back, clears the cache again, deletes the file, and finally displays the results.

chris: No registration required for the free version. Updated the extract instructions to be more clear about which one to download.

hi software asks for registration at 5 dollars so not freeware
