[Anonymous] david morleyExcellent editor, lots of features. I use it with portable xampp for all my hacking/development. [2006-06-09 17:51]

"Ready"=dword:00000000
"PSPadHandle"=dword:001503c6

Portable = 0 entry IMHO

[Anonymous] Andrew LeeThese are just working entries, IMHO. All the program settings are saved in the INI files and properly preserved when you transport PSPad from one machine to another. Of course, if your definition of "portable" is that the program does not leave _any_ registry entry at all, then I can't help you here. :) [2006-07-05 00:33]

[Anonymous] MikeHi Andrew,
What matters most for me is the question "Can I run a portable application without Admin Privilege ?" Writing to the registry requires those, correct me if I am wrong. I really like the prog BTW, Notepad++ for instance doesn't write anything to the registry AFAIK ( verified with RegShot ;-) )

[Anonymous] Andrew LeeIf the program writes to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, it does not require admin privileges. Only a program that writes to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE requires that. [2006-07-05 17:47]

[Anonymous] MikeMy bad Andrew mate, I was just concentrating on the fact the some entries are made to the registry :(
Thanks for the hint :)

[Anonymous] BHMike - it does work. it worked for me at school and the account we get arne't priviledged. it's like the stone age of computer. you can't really do anything. but yeah, it works.. [2006-10-24 11:40]

[Anonymous] athis thing is kinda like the photoshop of programing editors. very professional looking, and it's "portable", "free", and reasonably small in size.. now thats rare, lets hope it stays that way for a long time! [2007-02-04 11:09]

[Anonymous] WebforkI use this program's hierarchical groupings of text files on any subject all the time and for everything. Its tabbed interface makes sense and works beautifully, way better than NoteTab.

Note that I use this program only as a notepad and it works fine. Never crashes, very customizable, and with power features under the hood if you need them. Adore this program!

[Anonymous] BillI use it as a notepad replacement for about 3 years. It's also the tool I use if I want to do some text cleanup from cut and paste lists from web, Excel, etc. The remove duplicates when sorting feature isn't something that I've seen anywhere else (at least this quick and easy to use). It's just a great tool to have regardless of what your editor of choice is. [2007-11-06 15:39]

[Anonymous] ViniciusbanI've been using PSPAD as my only PHP, HTML, SQL, CSS, INI, TXT editor for 3 years now.

It's fantastic. Code Explorer is something I'v just seen in Ultraedit.

By the way, only thing I think is missing is allowing personal syntax highlighters set color for variables.

It's just a great professional software I use to develop professional applications all the day long.

[Anonymous] GmacriPSPad is not only a tabbed plain text editor unicode and multilingual, with syntax highlighting support. Work with plain text and has a wealth of formatting functions, including a spell checker.
There are macros, clip files and templates to automate repetative tasks. Integrated HEX Editor, Project support, FTP Client, Macro Recorder, File Search/Replace, Code Explorer, Code page conversionthe...
Direct access to favorites (files, folders, webs and tools).
Search and replace and line number.
These are just some of the many features that PSPad offers.
PsPad is the best I found.

[Anonymous] Initrd.gzThis is an excellent editor. The only thing missing is a "Comment Out" tool.

It is especially good installed, since you can just right click anything and select the PSPad icon, and you can view it.

[Anonymous] WebforkNot very stable and no longer in development. After extensive testing for almost a year with very large text files, I'm getting odd file errors, unexpected crashes, and basically a great amount of disappointment for a program I really grew to rely on. I switched over to Notepad++ (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=539) which lacks PSPad's outstanding "project" interface but does have tabs, is much faster, and never seems to crash. [2009-02-08 12:51]

[Anonymous] van logginsThis program is simply awesome. tried others like notepad++ and didn't like them, didn't have enough features. The ability to directly connect to ftp sites for web server so I can directly edit php and tpl files makes this a must have in my toolbox. keeps my jooma web server and my phpbb3 forum sites looking good. [2009-05-17 19:21]

[Anonymous] Tom@Webfork absolutely wrong. It IS still under development. Just watch the beta-versions! Latest released dev-build (4.5.4 r2374) was just 9 days ago.

However: the version 4.5.4 is NOT new, as the headline indicates. It has been out since at least July 2009. Just check the release history.

Make sure to download it from the original page as you might want to get some of the dictionaries, tools, extensions, highlighters and code-snippets.

[Anonymous] jxf011PSPad is the best text editor I've used and the only non-notepad editor I have installed. And, it's still very much in development, check the site for the latest builds. [2009-12-14 14:52]

Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
