Maybe everyone already knew the trick, except me .....
Let's pretend you want to download a file e.g., MyBigViruzMegaBag.zip,
but Chrome (Brave as well, I did not test FireFox) refuse to "give" you the file you absolutely need!
Actually you can see that the file is downloaded to your hard drive, but you can't access it (at least Chrome / Brave let you believe that you can't access the file.)
And all you get is a message from Chrome / Brave in the bottom left corner:
MyBigViruzMegaBag.zip, is dangerous, so Chrome / Brave has blocked it.
And your only options are "Discard" and " Learn more" ... but that does not "give" you the file.
FIRST: DO NOT click Discard, because in reality, if you go to the folder where the file should be downloaded, you notice a file named: Unconfirmed 812397.crdownload (the digits have no special meaning for what we want to do !): This is your file !
If you click Discard, Chrome or Brave will delete the file.
THEN: All you have to do is to rename Unconfirmed 812397.crdownload >> MyBigViruzMegaBag.zip which you can now fully enjoy
Circumventing Chrome Blocking File Download

There's an option in settings to manage this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/bl ... ds-firefox
... which I believe this is enabled by default.
