Along the years I've been using several "Launcher" programs to facilitate access to my applications "on the go", either from memory cards, USB pen drives of SSD external drives.
My most used favorites:
* PStart
https://www.portablefreeware.com
Pros: smallish, unobtrusive, "launch from the tray", and quite nimble.
Cons: no 64-bit version.
* ASuite
https://www.portablefreeware.com
Pros: 32 and 64-bit versions.
Cons: takes a bit of screen area when called.
* Quick Cliq
https://www.portablefreeware.com
Pros: highly versatile, may be called from anywhere, easy use of icon libraries.
Cons: steep learning curve.

The implicit philosophy: links are to the containing sites; then one should do a simple search by the name of the software.
Re: My Best Portable Launchers
I'm sorry, I was not aware that "?id=9999" were permalinks...
Re: My Best Portable Launchers
Thanks for the breakdown but the newest of these is two years old and PStart is around 15 years old now. Have you tested out any other app launcher tools that are actively updated?

MaxLauncher:
For something a little different from the usual menu style: https://maxlauncher.sourceforge.io/index.html It does need .NET 3.5, which most systems will probably already have installed, but otherwise seem to be fully 'portable'.

Thanks for the tip webfork.
I was just sharing my experience to any newby - been using portable app stes for decades - I specially love Quick Cliq because one may call it anywhere (e.g., from whithin any app) thru just a couple of keystrokes.
Re: My Best Portable Launchers
FYI, there's an old topic (among others...) on the subject of launchers that may be of interest here:
