Brainsharper Concept Mapper

#1 Post by Cornflower »

Name: Brainsharper
Homepage: https://www.brainsharper.com
Download: https://www.brainsharper.com/downloads/ ... 6.1015.exe
Requires .NET 4
May be considered portable or not, depending on the strictness applied to the definition (see below)

Brainsharper is a Concept mapping software. Easier than VUE, and great for quick yet complex maps. I use the fact that you can label the arrows, which many other Concept and Mind mapping software does not have. It is easy and intuitive and I have now created a few maps for coursework with this tool.

Here is a crib sheet I created with Brainsharper to show most of its functions. {F1} in the software takes you to its documentation page for further details.

How to Extract:
Method 1:Use Universal Extractor to extract brainsharper.msi file then again to extract the msi into a folder Run BrainSharperWin.exe
Method 2: Run the Installer, copy files to a new directory, and uninstall. It appears to create a .brainsharper file association,

Not fully portable
Creates a .brainsharper file association if you run the installer (Method 2 only)
Creates Brainsharper directory in the Documents folder. This is where all brainsharper documents are kept.
If you move the directory, it will create a new one the next time it is run

Last updated in 2012 but works well on Windows 10.

Thanks for sharing this little gem. I like the simplicity of it. :D

Despite its age it is easy to control on HD screens, no tiny dialogs to cope with, which really sets it apart from other veterans.

Great suggestion, thanks for posting about that. I'll have to check that out soon.

I love the simplicity. It's not as intuitive as I expected but I still was able to build something quickly

You made that? Very nice. I hope the developers come across this thread.

Everyone else should look at that as well as the documentation. https://www.brainsharper.com/documentation
