Lots of apps store passwords in plaintext including some you wouldn't expect like FileZilla. Basically, it makes sense to assume there is no security around your stored passwords unless it states otherwise (and then it makes sense to verify said statement).

Portably, you could also use TrueCrypt if you have admin rights on every PC you'll use it on or an encrypted flash drive like the PortableApps.com Carbide if you don't. Both will keep your data safe if you lose your flash drive.

I am currently testing the developer version of Opera 19.

Opera 15 is NOT standard portable

I found a project that basically tries to recreate Opera 12.

Came across this as well. Just gave it a try. Still got a ways to go, but it has private tab functionality already! Found it slow to render the Preferences page. Will wait until it hits a beta instead of playing around with more alpha versions.

I'm surprised at how high their total revenue is. They have much higher revenue than us, for example. I didn't know developing a web browser can be that profitable.

Another bit of news: Opera put out a variant on their "Turbo" compression service that works to lower the quality settings on Youtube and Netflix, saving bandwidth and electricity. I've been looking for something like this for a while, given that I'm not often playing video on large screens where high definition makes sense.
