SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
Not every node on the internet belongs to a private user who is responsible in the eyes of both the law and their ISP for how their connection gets used. Do you allow other people to drive your car? To live in your house/apartment? Wear your clothes? Eat your food?
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
I rest my case.
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
You've not proven anything. In fact you said you keep an open router and all nodes should be open and free but then said you need to keep an eye in it. So that's not being totally open is it? That's being open so long as they bide by your rules.
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
An infinitely open system is not a system anymore. A totally closed system is absolutely static (and likely dead)... As with everything in life, there are different degrees of openness and closure, and optimal balance between the two is a worthy achievement.
Life itself isn't based on randomness (absolute openness) nor is it fully deterministic: it's a mix, usually referred as stochastic (you should look it up, fascinating reading).
Summing up, life isn't black and/or white, it comes in sixteen shades of gray...

Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
But everything IS black or white! And there is equilibrium, but it's not called "gray"...
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
Good catch, I was probably thinking of Dorian...joby_toss wrote:there is equilibrium, but it's not called "gray"...
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard - commercial
SoftPerfect WiFi Guard is now commercial software:
I have previous (free) versions of SoftPerfect WiFi Guard if someone is interested.
SoftPerfect is very greedy, it does not discern between commercial and private use.
Change LogWiFi Guard is now commercial software. To facilitate its further development, we introduced a licence fee.

Yes, please post.smaragdus wrote:I have previous (free) versions of SoftPerfect WiFi Guard if someone is interested.
I'd like to think that the freeware (or free for personal use) license would get the program more attention and result in more income over time, unfortunately I have exactly zero data on that.smaragdus wrote:SoftPerfect is very greedy, it does not discern between commercial and private use.
Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
Sorry for getting back late, had some non internet related things to deal with... I'll see if I can upload both separately here, together the file size is too big.
Bummer, file size is still too big, 1mb max allowed. 64-bit = 1.19mb // 32-bit = 1.04mb, this is 7zed @ultra settings.
It looks like someone else stepped in anyway so all should be good
