Now I'm getting a little confused .....
This wasn't added to the database because
i) There were some install & operational issues
ii) Quote "I also found out that it requires IE 5.5 or later to be installed. A sync app depends on browser version? Come on. A Win2K machine might not have IE 5.5 installed, that's for sure."
Yet in another forum, there debate over whether browsers that rely on IE should be allowed !! And the consensus is yes ! Bring on the Java Apps I say !!! (Another do we / dont we issue !)
Yet more food for thought on the whole 'what should be allowed" debate.
In terms of the sync package itself...I use SyncExp myself & had no problems

Allway Sync (backup utility)
I was quite surprised to find no mention of Allway Sync (https://allwaysync.com/) here at TPFC, as it was one of the first remotely portable programs I started using way back in pre-history...
Well Allway Sync is still in active development and sports a PAF version, so here's a post about it.

The latest Allway Sync freeware portable release (currently v18.0.3), can be downloaded from https://allwaysync.com/download/.

Re: Allway Sync (backup utility)
I'm very surprised as well. I think I've seen mention of that program several times over the years and didn't think to dig in because I was sure we'd already gone into it.Midas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 5:03 am I was quite surprised to find no mention of Allway Sync (https://allwaysync.com/) here at TPFC
Thanks for that.
Re: Allway Sync (backup utility)
Allway Sync v18.7.5 released (changelog at https://allwaysync.com/news).
Re: Allway Sync Portable (Backup Utility)
Turns out I didn't run a thorough search and this program has been discussed at some length over time. I've since merged the various threads.
Anyway, the recent updates include OneDrive, Azure, Google Cloud, and S3 storage capabilities: https://allwaysync.com/news so definitely some nice changes since I first saw it.
Softpedia is reporting it as a demo (https://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE- ... n-Go.shtml) but the site seems to indicate it's free for personal use: https://allwaysync.com/license
Sidenote: I'm curious why the U3-enabled program is still available as that format is long dead: https://allwaysync.com/download/
