Also, I am going to add dotNET to this so I can find it later. Database searches ignore "net" and Google isn't much help either: too generic. I really wish Microsoft had chosen a different name.
Edit: the best one (fastest?) Baas mentioned is probably http://www.hanselman.com/smallestdotnet/ ... make sure you open in Internet Explorer.

I couldn't tell, I didn't click the links but is this for a .NET version detector or... .NET Version Detector?
I use the tool and like it but I have no idea if it's truely portable...?

Does anyone have a recommendation on which of these is ideal? I kinda liked .NET Version Detector just because it gave an abundance of information, but I was thinking of something maybe to recommend for including in entries that list a .NET requirement.
