Re: MITEC freewares
Has anyone ever tested MiTeC Mail Checker for portability?

Re: MITEC freewares
Create an empty file MAILCHECKER.ini in the application folder otherwise it will be created in AppData\Roaming\MiTeC\Mail Checkersmaragdus wrote:Has anyone ever tested MiTeC Mail Checker for portability?
No registry entries found

Thank you! Did you test it just for portability or had a deeper look at it? My favourite mail notifier is PopMan but since it doesn't support Unicode I will have to test this one.

I tested Mail Checker version 7.2.0.0 briefly:
- It was able to import mail accounts from Thunderbird.
- It was able to connected to Gmail and GMX.
- One can set a period for automatic mail checking and a notification sound for new messages.
- In contrast with PopMan there is no tray control- right-click on Mail Checker tray icon just exits the program (at least on my system), middle click does nothing.
- There are 4 icon sets for tray icon.
In short- Mail Checker works fine but it is not perfect.

@smaragdus
Thank you for testing Mail Checker and for sharing your findings.
I also use PopMan, but I am always curious to test other software.
