Minor updates to TPFC
Two updates made to the TPFC website:
1) As discussed in this topic, I have added some code to deal with animated screenshots. Instead of having a checkbox to indicated animated screenshots, I am checking the image file directly. If it is an animated GIF, a "play" symbol is prepended to the screenshot text, and the link title is set to "Screenshot (Animated)". Check this entry to see an example.
2) A "Recent Updates" box has been added to the right-most column of the TPFC website that displays the most recent version updates.

Does the "frequency of updates rule" apply to this list?Andrew Lee wrote:A "Recent Updates" box has been added to the right-most column of the TPFC website that displays the most recent version updates.

Yes.Does the "frequency of updates rule" apply to this list?

Great. What has happened to the comments? Some are missing and also seems there unrelated comments by you in some of the entries, I believe these to be testing comments.
Re: Minor updates to TPFC
It's strange, some of the recent comments got obliterated or reset to a certain date?
ResophNotes for example had comments and now they're all gone

Re: Minor updates to TPFC
On the subject I think the sidebar could be slighter wider so that the text (e.g. Drive Manager V4.18 ➟ V4.19) shows in on a single line instead of 2 lines.

There are also some database entries missing. The latest? Maybe this is an older backup?
For example, Clam Sentinel is no more: http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2289

Blame it all on user Loner
Re: Minor updates to TPFC
Seems so. I'm missing all my yesterdays updates (for example: Q-Dir V5.06). If you go to the "Private"-Section ( [#] ), you will find a lot of apps with voting points "0" nowjoby_toss wrote:There are also some database entries missing. The latest? Maybe this is an older backup?

Re: Minor updates to TPFC
Apologies everyone
There is a test region and a production region. Somehow during the cutover, the production region was mispointed to the test region database and started using the wrong data. Everything is back to normal now. I will be making some procedural changes to make sure this absolutely does not happen again.
Once again, my sincere apologies to all the confusion.

One entry (Free QR Creator) was updated during this period, which I have imported into the production database.
There were also a couple of new comments added, which I have imported into the production database (after some tidying up).

Re: Minor updates to TPFC
I tried that, but it was quite ugly. Length of application titles vary, and making the lines non-breaking leave a lot of white space and make the sidebar really wide.On the subject I think the sidebar could be slighter wider so that the text (e.g. Drive Manager V4.18 ➟ V4.19) shows in on a single line instead of 2 lines.

Re: Minor updates to TPFC
how about displaying the version part in the second line? e.g.
Drive Manager
(V4.18 ➟ V4.19)
The updates are great, Andrew. Thanks!

Thanks

My idea was to bring updates to users attention which are "victims" (like e.g. Q-Dir - presently at page 9) of the update-rule. So please think of to skip the rule at this side bar.Andrew Lee wrote:Yes.Does the "frequency of updates rule" apply to this list?

Re: Minor updates to TPFC
But how to indicate the update if there are no version changes? Just a [AppName] - Updated by [UserName]? What do the rest of you think? My idea was to bring updates to users attention which are "victims" (like e.g. Q-Dir - presently at page 9) of the update-rule. Just tried that. Check it out at the home page.how about displaying the version part in the second line? e.g.
