World ipv6 day
woo ipv6 day June 8th 2011 coming soon and on my birthday (does this mean I get an ipv6 address as a present ) anyways whats your take on ipv6 and how you think it will affect people.
Re: World ipv6 day
I personally don't think it will be a big problem as the media has made out. For Example who remembers the Millennium Bug? Correct...No One!

Re: World ipv6 day
Your right - its not a big problem personally for most. But for serious software and companies who cannot go down...
Every file, field and program has to be checked and tested - no kidding a masive effort.
I do indeed remember the Millennium Bug, it was for me a 12 month contract.

wouldn't be so much of a problem yes, but that is not what I was talking about , I saying how it affects people, Good, bad, I predict that there will be some problems, Murphy's Law states anything that can go wrong will go wrong, albeit most likely small.
Re: World ipv6 day
OK... it won't affect anyone because no one will really know about it. Of course I am talking general here for the normal everyday Internet user. I think people would only notice the change if their Internet speed increased by 100%!I saying how it affects people

And unavailability of some sites is such drastic decrease. But I don't think it will be that bad either.

The IPv6 address space is so massive that everyone on Earth can have 48,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 of them.Zach Thibeau wrote:woo ipv6 day June 8th 2011 coming soon and on my birthday (does this mean I get an ipv6 address as a present ) anyways whats your take on ipv6 and how you think it will affect people.
