Re: IPv6 is coming.
For those who are unaware of what IPv6 is and wonder why there isn't IPv5 when clearly IPv4 + 1 is IPv5, then read http://www.404techsupport.com/2011/01/1 ... -ipv6-day/

Re: IPv6 is coming.
Slightly worrying in a way when considering 2 years ago the projection for running out was in 2015! But looking at >> http://www.tipsntech.com/hardware/ipv4- ... ce-for-us/ it seems the data of how many IPv4's are available is ever changing.
Re: IPv6 is coming.
Wow, that soon?! I wonder what happens now? IPv4 addresses being sold on the black market?!

I almost can't sleep!
Re: IPv6 is coming.
I think they should take back IP blocks that have been sold to hosting companies that do nothing to prevent spammers from abusing their systems. Layered tech would be a good one as they have quite a few subsets and seem to actively encourage spammers to use them.
Re: IPv6 is coming.

I still stand by my previous post.
Re: IPv6 is coming.
Old thread update: the Wireshark folks just put out an IPv6 detector.

This was passed along to me by a network expert so I'm assuming it's good quality. However, one of the other links above might actually be better. Just another to add to the set.

Thanks for the link, very easy with detection compare to test-ipv6.com.
