Resize - image resize/compression

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

True LOL.
Any of most popular image resizing algos for now (trust me, we've produced bulk image resizer some time ago) use not only pixel-by-pixel data but also general color palette and other image data.

The algorythm which uses "small amount of information from the source image" is a primordial looser.

Ancient thread update

The included JPEG compression is probably well out of date, meaning not a very good file size to quality ratio. I kinda like the simplicity:
