Blazingly fast (searches done within seconds)
Small (only 68 kB executable)
Multi-threaded
Easily locate a certain file within a large folder
Auto-indexing support
The download takes about 2 seconds. Such SMALL is TheSearchMan.
Furthermore, you will be able to complete any search within seconds.
Wildcards accepted (almost "a must")
Requirements:
- NET Framework 3.5 (it is not a submission so don't jump all over me )
Has anyone tried this tool? It seems to be something like Locate32 + Everything but I find it a little far from both (not that advanced search - aware). It is very small though and pretty fast and also portable ... well, as portable as .Net could be. For me it's a keeper.

Yes I have used.
And from the instant that I first started it, I deleted Everything which poses a threat to my privacy by displaying all my files at the startup.
Now I have sticked to TheSearchMan.
By Gar!! This is really good.
I have Vista and it runs fine on it.
By default Vista and 7, both have .net 3.5 so its portable enough.

An alternative or addition to Everything by Voidtools as this can search FAT partitions. However I can not properly test it as it appears to have problems under Windows 7 64bit
TheSearchMan unRARs before you can blink your eye.
Its a 35 KB program.
Light on resources.
Accurate.
Portable.
Simple.
Small.
Free.
Fast.
what more do you want?
Apple pie??
and
I recommend TheSearchMan.
unlike Everything , TheSearchMan’s database is encrypted and it doesn’t show ALL files at the startup.
The database of Everything is on the most wanted List of hackers as it lists all your files.
TheSearchMan is a mere 30 KB download.
It is portable also. That means NO INSTALLATION.
Unlike Everything or Locate32 which can only search in the index, TheSearchMan can do real searching,ie, in the drive with a super fast speed.
It searched my 50GB Seagate drive in a little over 2 seconds.
It has bagged many 5 stars and Top Software awards.
The interface of TheSearchMan is extremely simple.
Just enter the path and search criteria
With a .NET v3.5 dependency (the reason I'm posting it as not portable), this looks like an interesting local file searching utility...
