WinWorkBar, an excellent non-portable freeware PIM

#1 Post by garbanzo »

i know this is an odd place to post this since it's not portable, but i just wanted to share this find. i've been looking for a nice, slim PIM for a while now, and have not been happy with anything so far. then i found this.

it's set up like a sidebar, and can be called up with a hotkey. it just has basic calendar, event, and todo support, nothing more. but it looks nice and it runs well.

writes settings to registry, stores xml files for notes/events in %appdata%

It is not freeware so i don't think it's worth the trouble (to Jauntize it).

Later edit: I'm confused! On the download page it says it is free software and has a BSD license...

yes, it says:
WinWorkBar from version 1.3 is available on BSD license
i think that it only became free with the latest version, and that the license page you found is old. i don't even see a link to it on the current site...

I'm posting this here and not in the dedicated subforum because it needs testing as it gives random errors from time to time, like this:

or this:

Code: Select all

I've tried many configurations, this last one seems more stable.
Maybe it works ok for others, maybe not.
Test it please!

wow, excellent! i'll definitely try this out, it's a good candidate to put in my dropbox directory to keep me updated between home and work.

i hope others like this app too, and find it useful.

thanks joby_toss :)
