Stick To-Go

#1 Post by acgrego »

From the site:

"Stick is a Windows application (Windows XP/Vista only) which provides utilities such as folder explorers, web browsers and notepads in tabs that attach to the sides of your screen (called ScreenTabs). ScreenTabs are highly customizable tab-shaped windows that let you access commonly used utilities quickly and easily."

I tried it before as a non-portable app, and I didn't really like it. The eventless calendar tab is really dumb - especially the "day" view; why would you want a day view if you can't have any events on it? Or even a week view, for that matter?

However, it seems to be coming along with lots more options and a portable version. I was just wishing again for something with low overhead that would allow webapps (especially the mobile or gadget versions) to live on your desktop, like the lightest of the Yahoo/Google/VistaSidebar widgets (but without the clunky widget engine). This can make nice little Toodledo and Gmail webapps on my desktop.

I can confirm that it's portable. The only thing it wrote outside of its directory was related to using IE for rendering.
