We have here three transcription tools, free and portable.
I learned about these tools in an interesting article about the transcription of Audio or Video to text using free and portable software:
https://freewaregenius.com/how-to-easil ... into-text/
Only free tools are considered:
Listen N Write
https://elefantsoftware-en.weebly.com/l ... write.html Free and portable
Potplayer
https://potplayer.daum.net/ (in the TPFC database : https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2483 )
The article mentions "Express Scribe", but does not discuss the tool, because they say it is no longer freeware. However, as of this writing there is a free version for home use only.
Express Scribe

The exe file you download is clean (Virustotal), and runs without extraction and installation (portable?)

FYI, Listen N Write has a dedicated topic here at TPFC forums: viewtopic.php?t=16638
Potplayer does as well: viewtopic.php?t=7653
