LView started as an image viewer in the 90s but became much like a Paint Shop Pro & the GUI definitely resembles the older JASC PSPs
Because of this it's a great editor-painter for small screens (or large too) as many modern apps waste alot of screen space.
Very capable but drawback of no PSD support.
Here is page there are 32 & 64 bit versions...NOTE! there is a serial there you must use!

Will install with various dialogs & a screensaver which is a photo slide show type which personally I like ALOT!
It won't take over anything but will prompt for file associations just make sure they are all unchecked.

Re: LView Pro 2006 Once Commercial Now Free
I've known about LView for a long, long time so this is big news. However, are you sure it's now freeware? I'm not finding a "buy" button but I'm also not finding a serial number.
The website is a little short on image captures but here's a few from Softpedia: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedi ... -Pro.shtml ...
The feature list is VERY long: http://www.lview.com/listoffeatures.htm

webfork, the information is right beneath the screenshot on the homepage:
Payment of a license fee is no longer required for the use of LView Pro 2006. The license ID 486-434-128-136 activates a copy of LView Pro 2006.

Re: LView Pro 2006 Once Commercial Now Free
I have used Lview Pro, working with PNG files for many years, but after installing the program on my Windows 11 PC, it will no longer open PNG files. Can anyone tell me what may be the cause? Thanks.
Re: LView Pro 2006 Once Commercial Now Free
In explorer, right click on a PNG file, properties, there should be "Opens with..." and then the name of a program, you should be able to change it there to say photos (default windows app). Or unistall LView to see if that restores the functionality.
