This program saves a *lot* of settings to the registry. Saves around 150 or so settings to HKCU\Software\EdrawSoft\Edraw,1\Settings and 16 to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes. Where's the JauntePE version?joby_toss wrote:I am very happy with my JauntePE version of Edraw Mind Map free. Every tool and symbol is "right there", just drag-and-drop, everything seems so easy, creating a mindmap feels like a breeze!

Re: Getting XMind Portable setup
Edraw Mind Map Free - JauntePE launcher
- tested on XPx86 and Win7x64
- launcher not optimized, but working just fine

Re: Getting XMind Portable setup
Sweet. I can't find anything on the Edraw site about a license or redistribution or I'd suggest making a web page that hosts the program + launcher.joby_toss wrote:Edraw Mind Map Free - JauntePE launcher

Edraw Mind map
[Moderator note: this was written after the above entries (because I forgot about it) and then merged after Joby pointed it out.]

Really slick looking mindmap program, but couldn't get it to work portably. Universal Extractor couldn't crack this so did the install/uninstall trick:
Procedure:
* Install
* Move from Program Files
* Also tried moving settings file to local folder without any change.
Results:
* Writes settings to \Application Data\Edraw Mind Map\Config: settings.xml and RecentTemplates.xml
* Appears to write to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Edraw.Template\

Maybe this will help.
Re: Edraw Mind map
Ah ... I didn't dig deep enough into the XMind thread -- I'll split them. Can't believe I forgot about that program only to retest it later...joby_toss wrote:Maybe this will help.
Edit: split from XMind and then merged.
Re: Getting XMind Portable setup
Launcher works great -- thanks very much, Joby. I also got to test out this Mind Map program and I'm very pleased. The various templates and graphics options really fire the imagination. I've recommended XMind to quite a few people, but I know they'd all probably get on board with Edraw's a lot faster.joby_toss wrote:Edraw Mind Map Free - JauntePE launcher

Re: Edraw Mind Map Free
Topic update: Edraw MindMaster is currently at v7.3.1 (changelog at https://www.edrawsoft.com/whats-new/mindmaster.html).
The following page notwithstanding, I'm not even sure there's a free MindMap (or is it MindMaster?) version anymore...
Note: not to be confused with the FLOSS Java-based FreeMind project (https://freemind.sourceforge.io/) -- which apparently suffered a few woes of its own...

Re: Edraw Mind Map Free
As Midas mentioned above, this appears to have gone fully commercial. Wish they could have found their way to a freemium offer as with Xmind (https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1732) but oh well. There looks to have been some real development time and energy put into this as it looks amazing. I certainly understand them wanting to make their money back.
I'll push to the payware thread.

Re: Edraw Mind Map Free
Update here: renamed to "wondershare mindmap" and no longer freeware. Can make an old version available if anyone's interested.
Re: Edraw Mind Map Free
I'd like to try the last freeware
Re: Edraw Mind Map Free
Here as well, I am interested in the last freeware version.
