Regshot 2
Regshot 2
The previous Regshot version is out-of-date since 2005. A Russian developer is maintaining a new major release of the software, available FROM HERE.
Given that it is widely changed, I add a post to report it to the community, to decide if update it or add a new form... and also to know your opinions about this major release.

Re: Regshot 2
As I've been looking into registry stuff more and more, I took a 2nd look at this program. Really liking it.

Re: Regshot 2
The download button on that page wasn't working with Google Translate for me, so here's a link to the actual (Russian) homepage, where the button did work:
http://regshot.ru/20/
Toward the bottom left of the page, there's a download button with Russian text that looks like it starts with a "3a" (the button is just to the left of the word "Скачано", if you'd rather do a search on the page for that text).

Are you still using that old thing?

Zsoft Uninstaller.
Look in the forums for version 2.5 beta. This new version is portable and much nicer than what you are using.

Re: Regshot 2
I'd been trying to link to 2.0.1.68 for some time but had no better success than 2.0.1.59. Thanks,
In my tests and usage of Regshot 2 over the past couple years, I found that the only three files required really are
Regshot.exe, regshot.ini, and language.ini
The bmp files are aesthetic and not really required, in my opinion.
The language.ini file is not necessary if you use it in Russian, and can be significantly pared down by deleting all languages except that which you need. For me now it is doen to 6k because I only use the English.
Petty, yes, but by cleaning out unnecessary aesthetics and language files, I have much less garbage on my USB.

Regshot2 Unicode v2.0.1.70
SUBMISSION: http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2505
(Vote to make it public)
Regshot2 Unicode is a registry change and file system change detection diff tool that takes snapshots, generates HTML reports, and creates automatic REG undo/redo scripts.
It can save/load snapshots to file for later use. Registry path and file path inclusion/exclusion rules can be set so as to include or not include certain paths in the snapshots.
1. Registry Shot - It will automatically generate UNDO.REG and REDO.reg registry scripts based upon the difference between two snapshots taken at two points in time.
2. File Shot - It will catch file changes based on either attributes(timestamp, size), or CRC32, or MD5 and report these changes in a Report HTML file.

Regshot2 Unicode v2.0.1.70NOTE: "Regshot2" is a different app than "Regshot". "Regshot2" has a very similar interface to "Regshot" but is built by a different author (who no longer maintains his website). However "Regshot2" is superior since it improves greatly upon the original Regshot by having native capability to create UNDO.reg and REDO.reg registry scripts and also report on file changes based upon file snapshots that diff based upon either attributes(timestamp, size), or CRC32, or MD5. Since "Regshot2" reports on both the Registry AND File system, it is a complete all-in-one portable testing tool.

Updated entry. Why is it using a Google address for download rather than the developer's download location?

Regarding RegShot development status, please notice what I posted at viewtopic.php?p=82192#p82192 ...
Re: Regshot 2
As Midas pointed out in comments, the Regshot 2 Unicode entry's download links are offline: https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2505
AfterDawn appears to have something with the 32 and 64-bit versions but it has no reputation on VirusTotal, which is weird:

Anyone have a copy?
(Thanks Midas.)

Re: Regshot2 Unicode v2.0.1.70
Topic update: Last Regshot Unicode 2 online information source has gone behind a registration wall, so I linked to Archive.org.
web.archive.org/web/20191108134004if_
/https://www.wincert.net/forum/files/file/16-regshot2-unicode/
Moreover, after no valid alternative download source found, I'm linking to the AfterDawn mirror.
www.afterdawn.com/software/system_tools/registry_tools/regshot2_unicode.cfm
As the program may well be obsolete, I would advise downvoting...
