Universal Extractor can extract the NSIS installer fine.

1) If I use 7-zip on "winamp5571_full_emusic-7plus_en-us.exe", I get this:
Image

2) When I use UniversalExtractor on "winamp5571_full_emusic-7plus_en-us", I get this:

If I then extract the "[0]" file (in fact it is an archive), I get the same result as 7-zip direct extraction.

- I downloaded uniextract again
- Updated the innoup (http://innounp.sourceforge.net/)
- Updated upx (http://upx.sourceforge.net/)
- (Couldn't find an updated NSIS extractor infimum suggested so I'm hoping I have the right one)
- Extracted "winamp5571_lite_en-us.exe" and here's what I get:

I couldn't get a screencap of the Univeral Extractor error screen (I really, really tried) but got serveral "cannot open output file" messages before the window closed.

If I'm missing something, please let me know. Otherwise, I think we need to change the entry to point to an earlier version of winamp that will decompress as written.

I think 7z.dll is at fault here.

I used this Winamp installer and the 7z.dll version from here.

UE treats the installer as a 7zip installer package. If I change 7z.dll version (for example v9.10.3.0 instead of v9.10.0.0) I get a similar result as you did.

All this is happening on WinXP.

- I downloaded the latest 7zip http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/proje ... /7z910.exe
- Copied over 7z.dll and 7z.exe
- Redownloaded the unofficial 5.572 version that Joby linked to http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/cli ... _en-us.exe and tried to extract (no luck).
- Redownloaded the official 5.571 from the winamp.com: http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/cli ... _en-us.exe) and tried to extract (no luck).

So still stuck. We need precise instructions on how to get this running. I really want to update my Winamp but I'm clearly missing something.

Use 7-Zip Portable then. It's extracted fine.

That seemed to work, thanks. I'll update the Winamp entry shortly.

Edit: updated. The download we were linking to only has 5.571 so I changed the entry to that.
