Long (but sketchy) list of updated programs

#1 Post by webfork »

!PLEASE NOTE!

The following program updates are legitimate meaning that the version number has changed. But either the author didn't list WHY the program update was necessary or the update seemed to be a pretty modest change that doesn't make it worth listing.

I leave it to the community here to decide if they're worth the time.

DTaskManager 1.51

1.50

[Author lists no changelog.]

AutoHotkey 1.0.47.06
http://www.autohotkey.com/

V1.0.47
http://portablefreeware.com/?id=217

Changelog *seems* to have a lot of changes since June '07:
http://www.autohotkey.com/changelog/

... but this program seems way behind similar programs here.

May want to wait on this as the author didn't seem to make any real
substantive changes:

i.Mage 1.09

1.08

Have no idea what improvements were made but last version was a year ago:

Memtest 3.8
http://hcidesign.com/memtest/

3.6
http://portablefreeware.com/?id=986

---

Texter 0.6
http://lifehacker.com/software/texter/l ... 238306.php

0.5
http://portablefreeware.com/?id=1212

Why update to Version 0.6: Lots of redesigned code, can now rename
existing hotstrings, universal autocorrect, instant replacements added
and more.

Xpadder site has changed and may not be around much longer. Author
claims to have 5.3:

http://xpadder.com/

and we have v.2008.1
http://portablefreeware.com/?id=1391

Little confused on this one.

Buzzsaw 2.0.0.2
http://portablefreeware.com/?id=566

2.1.2
http://www.dirms.com/home/docs/downloads.asp

Horrible Website means I don't know when this came out or if its worth
the update. Unlikely to be better than JKDefrag

---

Another possible item to skip. Still showing up as a virus on ClamWin
(but not other virus scanners) ...

4.3.5.20
AAST - Andrew's Anti Snooping Tool

4.3.5
http://portablefreeware.com/?id=1382

Update is not listed on the site -- you have to download it.

I list this because its a really good idea and just went open source and seems to have gotten much more active -- not because its a program that seems ready for prime time.

This program's portability is suspect because the previous version
required some tweaking. However, it is now open source and made in
python so it should be extremely portable. Up to the developers,
really.

... may need to wait until an actual release real comes out.
