Autodelete Cyber-D

#1 Post by webfork »

An old program that still works great to clear out old files based on detailed criteria.

The interface looks a bit cluttered but I actually found it very easy to use. Just make sure you hover over all the elements as it's not very intuitive. And definitely test it first on some junk files that are sent to the recycle bin before setting it up on auto-pilot.

STEPS: Download and Uniextract, run CONFIG.EXE. Tested on Win10.

Status: Not portable, writes to AppData

A few setup notes with this in case anyone else tries using this one to solve an auto-delete problem.

Scheduled launch: I was in a rush so I set this up with Windows' scheduler rather than a fully portable scheduling program, but if I go back to it, I'll use System Scheduler Free (https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=218). Any very low memory (including CLI tool) suggestions for this are welcome and appreciated..

Steps to run: Once you go through the setup process with config.exe, you can just set the program to run autodelete.exe and it will follow the steps with a nice little output screen describing what it does.

Setup suggestions: Definitely enable logging and delete any files to the recycle bin just as a precaution.
