Romeolight utilities - web and image optimisation/conversion
Posted: Mon Apr 25, 2016 2:36 am
Homepage: http://www.romeolight.com/
Includes:
Image optimisation - JPEGmicro, PNGmicro, GIFmicro (à la RIOT, Caesium, PngOptimiser)
Image conversion/resizing - PhotoResizer, BPGconv, WebPconv
Colour picking (geared toward web design) - CP1
Web code optimisation - HTMLminify, Scripttm (formerly WebMini?)
(Lightway is a music utility intended to be used with installed iTunes, so not included here)
Portability: NOT fully tested, but settings stored in "Romeolight AppName_X.X.X.X.config" files within app folder. They might depend on .NET, but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone can confirm this.
Briefly tried out a few of the image utilities, like JPEGmicro, and I'm impressed. The apps themselves have a uniformly modern style, and, in the case of JPEGmicro, work very well. It was also interesting to learn of the BPG and WebP formats.
Some screencaps:
I checked those optimised images afterwards and there was hardly a difference visually. This might just be better than RIOT
