Kujawiak Viewer (kuView)

#1 Post by I am Baas »

Kujawiak Viewer (kuView) is a picture viewer which focuses on browsing and managing files. It provides some useful features including Unicode support, EXIF extraction, better scaling filter, shell integration, and browsing in archive. Of course it also provides a lot of convenient functionalities like zooming, rotation, printing, and setting wallpaper with more options.

Very cool. Always good to have more open source image viewers than just Jpegview.

Tested this out -- really fast. Also simple and fairly intuitive. Has most of the functions you would want, can look inside ZIP files, and view exif data easily.

Wishlist:

* Would like it to go back to the last directory I viewed. Right now it will always jump back to the USER\My Documents folder.
* Weirdly if you want to change the background of the view window, you also have to change the background of your desktop -- I know that's supposed to be like a preview function for if you want to add wallpaper, but I wish they were independent.
* The thumbnails window didn't seem to work. Not sure if that's just me.

This might be out of the program's scope but ...

* Crop and resize capabilities
* Some default quick-compression sizes
* Batch conversion tools

Essentially I'd like to see a lot of the functions of XnView and FastStone in this one so I could take it to work with me (those are non-commercial use only).

Drag & drop a folder onto the gui. To view thumbnails of another folder, right click on the thumbnails window and choose "clear all", then drag & drop another folder.

Another one in my list of programs to come back to, Kujawiak hasn't seen updates since early 2017. Likely discontinued.
