Short version: possible old gem that I couldn't sort out.
---
Something that came out of yesterday's Tucows exit was a very promising text parsing tool that I unfortunately could never get to work.
Since batch text edit/analysis tools haven't changed much over the years, I was hoping this would scratch an itch I've had to quickly sort through text files for a loose/keep list. It appears to have started out as nagware and it then it went on to shareware / commercial: https://www.snapfiles.com/get/parsomatic.html I was also encouraged by the command-line functionality, I couldn't get even a basic output to work.
Before vevy or someone else points this out, you can do much of what this program does with a number of analysis tools (dnGrep comes to mind) but I liked the dead-simple input and output file entry I saw in screenshots.
