Gmail weirdness

#1 Post by Napiophelios »

I went to sign into my gmail account and it asked me to re enter my password
but instead of typing my password I clicked the "Sign in with a different account" link,
then instead of adding another account I just click on my regular account
and it just logged me in with no password.

I cleared all the browser data and can't reproduce it.
This can't be normal...its just weird.

Did you set your browser to remember the password?

No..never.

Edit:

Okay I figured it out. It happens when I log into youtube first, which sends me to google sign in
then if I go to google mail it asks me to re enter the password
that's when I am able to sign in without a password.
still weird..why ask for a password at all if I can just walk around it.

Here's what I was going to ask before I saw your response: "Strange. Are you sure you weren't already signed in on a different tab?"

Still, this is also a good reminder for me to treat my GMAIL accounts as temporary. Their assistance with account issues is bare minimum. I only use it because of the interface.
