Add a (program database) search box to the forum website?

All suggestions about TPFC should be posted here. Discussions about changes to TPFC will also be carried out here.

Add a (program database) search box to the forum website?

#1 Post by bzl333 »

Was wondering if it would be possible or useful to add a search box in the upper right side on the forum to be able to search the programs directly from the forum. many times i'm on a forum webpage and want to search for a program and have to hit the logo and tab out instead.

Not a bad idea. I have a keyword "pf" in Opera to search TPFC so never run into this issue.

What's interesting is that tabbing to the search box eventually works :)

I am a little tied up these couple of days, but once that is out of the way, I will check to see whether it is feasible to implement this.

Experimented with a couple of designs but didn't like any of them.

Main problem is it conflicts with the forum search function. Not a good thing to have two search functions on the same page.

I'd suggest using one of the quick search plugins.
