PRISM
Re: PRISM
For me this is neither funny nor scary, this is reality. This is not paranoia, this is common sense, the evil kike is not stupid at all.
Once I experienced a cam-attack- I downloaded a portable encryption tool from Softpedia ("100% clean") started it and all of a sudden my cam's blue eye flashed. I found out that the "clean & portable" encryption tool downloaded additional malicious packages in the background which turned on my cam. I was lucky because the malware was not very hard to remove. I messaged Softpedia, they responded that I was right and they removed it from their database but they did not apologize as far as I remember. This was an amateurish piece of malware created by a Turkish hacker (obviously a beginner) but it shows clearly that once connected to the internet no one can be secure. We cannot do much to protect ourselves from malware designed by American-Israeli joint ventures. Although extremely complex and powerful, tools like Stuxnet, Duqu, Flame, etc are not effective in the long run and that is the main reason why Windows 10 was devised. It is easy to avoid Windows 10 but it is not that easy to avoid Intel and AMD and this is the biggest problem for me.

Windows 10 Might Soon Track Absolutely Everything You Do for Your Own Good
Softpedia wrote:Called “Query formulation via task continuum,” the patent basically describes a technology that always monitors what users do on their computers, including here the time when they’re working with third-party apps.
As MSPU notes, the whole thing is happening for users’ own good, as what Microsoft is trying to do here is to connect third-party apps with its own services in order to provide better search experience.
Re: PRISM
This is totally out of step with what I want. At least once a day I open up an "incognito" window so Google doesn't "help" me with my news or search results. Two ways I use this here on the site:joby_toss wrote:Windows 10 Might Soon Track Absolutely Everything You Do for Your Own GoodSoftpedia wrote:Called “Query formulation via task continuum,” the patent basically describes a technology that always monitors what users do on their computers, including here the time when they’re working with third-party apps.

- Program popularity. Looking up a program up to see if it shows up in the first 1-3 pages of Google search engine results (important if it's one of our pages)
- Avoiding customized news results. This is how people just get their existing (sometimes wrong) views and opinions reinforced.

Microsoft Worker Arrested for Child Pornography After the Company Turned Him In
They watch our files for our own good! Say it isn't so!A Microsoft employee was arrested after police investigators found child pornography into his cloud storage account thanks to a tip sent by the Redmond-based software giant itself.
Re: PRISM
We gladly embraced a similar "law" in my country (call recordings and net logs are kept in databases for a period of time at "our" secret service disposal and can be accessed without a court order; 90% of our spies are in fact "watchers"). There was absolutely no opposition, no braking news, nothing... we just didn't give a fu.ck! Until something happens to us (as in "our person")! Then, suddenly, it becomes a big deal! But, guess what! It's too freakin' late!
Rest assured this is happening almost everywhere... at least in UK they try to make it legal now.

1984, the global surveilance is no longer a dystopia, now it is reality and almost no one cares, almost no one protests. Now freedom is the most unimaginable dystopia.
I do not live where joby_toss lives but I am afraid that a more evil, mightier alliance is in power- Israel, USA, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and its submissive lackey- EU. This evil alliance invented terrorism, destroyed Europe and is aiming at destroying the remnants of freedom globally. I do not want to live in EU but there is nowhere to escape. I am aware that my country (another USA puppet), with the help of Germany, Israel and Saudi Arabia and with the blessings of USA is delivering weaponry to ISIS and I can do nothing. Europe, the last oasis of relative freedom is no more, EU destroyed Europe.Mighty Securitate still in the business?
@joby_toss
The unceasing dumbing down of society reduced it to a unconscious, docile, timid, indifferent and frightened mob which accepts everything and obeys to everything. Examples are innumerable. The mob cannot comprehend why I refuse to use Windows 10, smart phones, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc and I have neither will nor strength left to try to educate the mob, it is a hopeless and useless act, it is a lost cause. We gladly embraced a similar "law" in my country (call recordings and net logs are kept in databases for a period of time at "our" secret service disposal and can be accessed without a court order; 90% of our spies are in fact "watchers"). Re: PRISM
It sure is! But there is a major difference: it used to work for us, now it works for them...billon wrote:Mighty Securitate still in the business?
Amen to that!smaragdus wrote:...EU destroyed Europe.
Just for the record, I still use Windows 10 and I still don't trust it with anything that matters...still have working machines with XP, Vista, 7, Linux. Every move must be thinked twice, but it's getting tiresome...smaragdus wrote:...The mob cannot comprehend why I refuse to use Windows 10, smart phones, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc and I have neither will nor strength left to try to educate the mob, it is a hopeless and useless act, it is a lost cause.
Funny thing about Whatsapp...my coworkers discovered this app a while back and were charmed by it. So much so that they use it for many things, including announcements but also confidential data (even data that they don't own and don't have the right to make it public and they don't even realize it, thinking it's only between them) and still they are the ones amazed that I'm not a member of their group. They think I'm "behind"...
Hey, they succeeded in legalizing cannabis in a few US states, so someone is on the right track!smaragdus wrote:1984, the global surveilance is no longer a dystopia, now it is reality and almost no one cares, almost no one protests. Now freedom is the most unimaginable dystopia.

Re: PRISM
In terms of novelty and being not-obvious (the usual questions for if a software patent is legit) this seems to fail. Anti-spam systems have been around since the late 90s to sanction spammers in this manner. Sanctioning copyright violations isn't that different just with maybe a few more violation notices.smaragdus wrote:Microsoft Patents Technology to Block Pirated Content, Track Repeat Offenders
