There is no connection whatsoever between Megaupload and Mega.

FossHub stores old versions at OldFoss, this way OldFoss works as a kind of alternative to services like FileHippo and FileHorse.
I want to leave ge.tt as they say I am distributing malware
Re: I want to leave ge.tt as they say I am distributing malw
It isn't a coincidence that the websites have similar names. Kim Dotcom founded both Megaupload and Mega, and he founded Mega after Megaupload was seized. It's obvious that Mega is the successor of Megaupload.smaragdus wrote:@SYSTEM

It is true, though, that Mega employees haven't knowingly violated copyrights (or at least they haven't been caught doing that).

Yes, Dotcom is the founder of both services, but legally there is no connection between these companies. Of course the name is no coincidence, Dotcom had spoken a lot about his new project Mega long before it became public. Unfortunately Dotcom is no longer the owner of Mega (there was a hostile takeover) so I cannot trust this service as much as I did when it was run by Dotcom. My only gripe about Mega is that it doesn't support WebDAV.
Speaking of controversial companies, the first I can think of is Microsoft, then- Apple, Facebook, Google, etc.

I have bumped the ProEject entry over to softpedia for the time being.
