Don't Forget the USB Drive

#1 Post by webfork »

Requires dotNET 4.0, but a cool idea:

Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Sys ... -USB.shtml

When I used to work in computer labs, this was a constant problem. And when you've blown a little extra on a really big drive, you really don't want to forget it.

@webfork: indeed it is useful!

@guinness: do you think this kind of functionality could be added to ProEject? :oops:

I could try. But you would have to have ProEject running of course.

I thought of that as well, but it would certainly smell of feature-creep. On the other hand, maybe ProEject could go the way of a variety of USB drive tools, if you start feeling ambitious.

@guiness: make ProEject a swiss knife tool kinda. Although this would fit ProEject's general functionality.

I guess it could be argued that ProEject's basic objective is to get people to safely eject their drive and avoid data loss. If they never eject the drive because they just forgot about it, that would also represent data loss. So like the tagline would be ProEject: Your USB drive's best friend.

Again, only if you're feeling ambitious.

It's a good idea and one that I'll try to implement, though I can't make any promises yet as it's something I've never coded before. But...I'm sure I'll work it out :)
