Tik-Tak - time management utility

#1 Post by Gmacri »

Tik-Tak is a small time management utility that features a stopwatch and timer.

The application may display current time, internet time (BMT, Swatch time), universal coordinated time (UTC) and time elapsed since the system was started.

The time is displayed for the current time zone, one of the predefined time zones or custom, defined by user, time zone.

The most important features of the Tik-Tak:

* Timer and Stopwatch which support pausing/resuming.
* Small, easy-to-use, don't require any installation.
* User can define custom time zones.
* Saving and loading application settings to the tiktak files. Tik-Tak make association with that files.
* Full screen mode.
* A lot of options allow you to configure the application to almost its every detail.
* 100% freeware (for non-commercial use). No adware. No spyware.

Saves settings to the registry. You should probably look at the "About" and "FAQ" pages to see what kinds of programs are eligible for the database.

I looked into this because I need to have something on my desktop that can show multiple time zones (to date I've been using Qlock). Unfortunately it appears to only be willing to use military time format (e.g. 13:00 rather than 1:00 pm) and insists on being on top of other windows. The help file looks sharp but it's exclusively in Polish.

Release date: back in 2008 and only listed as compatible for Vista. So far works fine in Win7x86.

License: Freeware for non-commercial use (presumably you donate for an exception to this but the site wasn't clear)

Steps:
  1. Download and extract the RAR file. Even the softpedia page only distributes it in RAR format:
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-En ... l#download
  2. Launch TikTak.exe
  3. Right click and choose options, uncheck "Create shortcut on the desktop"
