It claims portability, but haven't really tested WorldDesk -- I even have some trouble understanding how it works -- so I'll just leave it here...

WorldDesk allows you to carry your entire computer desktop around on any device, from a simple USB drive, to a smartphone or iPod. You can access all that you need anytime, any place. To get started just plug your device into a Windows 7 PC (even a "clean" machine with no applications) and, without any installation, continue working like it is your machine. Think of WorldDesk as a home for all your apps, all of your files and all of your personal settings. Your WorldDesk apps run directly on the local machine without any installation. The WorldDesk environment is completely isolated from the host system keeping your work safe and secure.

I definitely like the idea but haven't a clue about how it works.  The whole thing is pretty light on details and no screenshots or screencasts are currently available.  

From the product sheet:

* Only supports Win7x86 and x64 and the only storage system it uses is currently dropbox
* Has a limited supported apps set, which I couldn't find

They pretty much want you to download and run the program to find out more.
