A rather good summary, IMHO.

@Midas

Excellent, and quite apropos for the PFC board. Thanks for the pointer.

Your catchy topic title reminded me of O'Reilly famous "Annoyance" series of computing books published as early as 1997, and sill going on today (latest I saw was about Windows 7).

BTW, inspired by the topic title, I just posted a little contribution in a similar vein, dubbed "Nirsoft utilities: Numeric-Pad Keyboard Shortcut annoyance", in the "Problems&Troubleshooting" forum:

Cheers,

How timely to see #2 when we were just talking about nagware...

I couldn't find a link to the original article, but I also liked this: UI Inconsistencies that annoy us. I don't mind #6 and #1, but pleased to see all the others.

Some of 'Annoying program features and traits' are what make me not even touch programs. Specially #2, there was a cool sounding one posted here in the last couple months (that i can't remember the name of, some menu thing I think?) but had some popup nag screen. I wanted to try it and play with it, but I wont put up with ...stuff like that. >.<
#1,#4,#8 also make me avoid programs.
(I'm looking at you .Net for #8 -_-)
