Stick-It!

#1 Post by dmg »

Stick-It! lets you set any window you choose to be always on top of other windows.

Freeware, open source, written in AutoHotkey. I wrote it, and hereby submit it for inclusion in the database.

Thanks. 8)

Anybody? I would even appreciate a (constructively) critical comment... :)

Didn't post 'cause I had nothing to add. :)

Maybe you could consider exe size reduction next. And here's my reformat of the readme.txt: http://pastebin.com/fiK6wvRy (pastebin set to expire in a month from today).

Great work. Thanks.

Thank you Midas. :)

That would be nice but I don't think it will happen. I used PortableApps AppCompacter to get it as small as it is. That is one issue with AutoHotkey based apps, even a single line of code compiles to over 700kb. :?

It doesn't apply to Windows Explorer, i mean if i open My Computer, My Documents, Control Panel or something like that, i can not make it stay on top. Don't know if this is normal, i've never used a similar program

Greetings mrpink.

No, that is not normal. Are you using Win7? If so it may be a user rights issue. Can you try running it as administrator? It should be an option in the context menu when you right click the Stick-It!.exe file.

I may be off on my description of what to do as I do not have Win7 to try it on.

Hmm... It should work then. Does Stick-It! not work at all, or is it only failing on certain windows?

It's called aversion to pink... works fine on Win7 64-bit, no admin rights.

Does it work on ordinary folders?

Are you trying to say my software is racist? That it is anti pink people?

I will have you know that my apps are color blind. They are just as likely to fail miserably for a green or orange user as for a pink one. 8)

Thank you. I used LICEcap:
http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... it=licecap
And then did some editing on the individual frames. 8)

I also had to do a lot of editing to get an icon that would look OK on the webpage. I wish the site allowed .png files in addition to .gif. :?
