Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

Tooler - Nifty Shortcuts on Desktop and in Start Menu

Tooler

http://programyaionela.republika.pl/english/tooler.htm

From that page:

"Description
Tooler is a unique program that allows you to create special type of shortcuts. What's so special about them ? They have all features of the typical shortcuts, so you can move them, rename them, or change their icons. But they also allow you to easy accomplish such tasks like turning off the monitor, restarting your PC or ejecting selected CD-ROM tray. This program is very easy to use, requires no installation and the exe file has only 50KB - so you can take it wherever you'll need it."

Tooler lets you create shortcuts either on the desktop or in the start menu and execute the following commands:

Run screensaver
Enable screensaver
Disable screensaver
Eject CD-ROM tray
Close CD-ROM tray
Set volume
Turn off monitor
Disable mouse and keyboard
Shutdown system
Restart PC
Logout current user

I've been using it for quite some time to put the monitor conveniently into sleep mode.

(I suppose, each shortcut will create just one registry entry, that will disappear when you delete the shortcut.)
