Deserving a mention at TPFC, ToolWiz Time Freeze (untested!) seems to be a free alternative to Faronics Deep Freeze...

I've read only good things about it. I, personally, don't have a use for this one, though. And I have no idea how to test it (or maybe I'm afraid...) .
I've been hearing about Deep Freeze for years and I'm thrilled to see a free variation. It's also great environment for portablefreeware: run all your software off a flash drive and never install anything.
I'm sure I'll come across a machine that I need to remain static that I can use this on.
