You can have a somewhat complicated folder structure you built for a project and want to use it in a new one

I was the one that gave the idea to SKWIRE for this program. What I needed it for was to replicate the file structure of the target system (production) on my developer machine so I could test out my scripts on file naming and manipulation. The advantage was I didn't have to copy the entire 50GB but only one zip file to recreate the structure :)

Another possible situation is when you are going to copy a LOT of files from one disk to another. By first creating the empty files, you end up with all the directories together and defragged, instead of fragmented all over the disk. Then, when you overwrite the empty files with the real files, the directories stay defragmented. |
Belvedere is an automated file management tool that works between two or more directories. It allows you to create advanced, multi-level rules to move, copy, delete, rename, or open files based on their name, extension, size, creation date, and more. Also allows for compression, recursive (all files and subfolders) copy, as well as recycle bin management.
Note: The program processes files based on a variable number of milliseconds. By default, this is set to 3,000,000 milliseconds, or 50 minutes. Modify the Sleeptime under Preferences for more or less frequent changes. For example, for every 24 hours, enter 86,400,000, for every minute, enter 60,000, or for instant change, enter 100.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that one of its main (and malicious) uses will be to upload and distribute fake files (for instance on binary newsgroups, file hosting sites, or via P2P), so users get tricked into downloading huge amounts of useless data while they keep thinking they are downloading some movie or software.

This works well for creating a pad file to be used with dsmask (part of dsfok). dsfok is available from http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware

I use this kind of file generators to block unneeded disk space (120 GB at my internet laptop). I leave only 3-4 GB available. this way when I shred the unused disk space once in a while (for making unwanted undeletes of sensible data impossible) the process is much faster. |

Although it looks somewhat dated it works well. Unlike many tools of this type, file paths can be passed through the command line and through other apps. I have this setup as a tool in FreeCommander to empty directories quickly and easily. Be careful with the computer icon. It's meant for deleting an edited folder list. If it's clicked after scanning, even with the test only boxed checked, it will immediately delete every folder listed!

I actually have got an incredible amount of use out of this program. One would think you would run it once and never need it again, but when you are trying to organize huge amounts of data this utility becomes very useful. |

Does anyone know of a way I could use this as a replacement "Sendto" menu. There's no software I've found that can do it. I would love to make my Sendto menu more portable when reinstalling Windows. |
