The menu system is a little odd but it's got a lot of cool functionality and tweaks for a small zoom program.

Been using this a lot in screen sharing meetings and demonstrations. Works well, but often get a "didn't shut down properly" message and have to restart on Win7x64. Very lucky to have it.

UNICODE support - finally perfect. I can type local characters.

This one is great. Unlike the other magnifier in the database ("OneLoupe"), it can also magnify constantly changing values on the display (OneLoupe sticks to the first value when moved over a changing field). I use Magnifixer to magnify the constantly changing display of a stopwatch ("1Time", also in the database), so I can check the watch when I'm doing something several metres away from the screen.

Currently in my Win10 installation ctrl-G for showing/hiding Magnifixer is not globally available. Any idea on how to fix this?

DesktopZoom v3.5 (http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=957#comments) stays magnifying when you click on an item.

AdrianK_IT on 2015-05-26 13:13

I have had to use Desktop Zoom for real recently after an eye operation, and have uninstalled it. It would always fairly quickly lead to complete system lockup on my Win 7 Home Premium PC, mouse and keyboard completely useless, no pssibility to launch Task manager, hard shutdown the only option.

Maybe it's the new version (1.7), but this doesn't seem to save settings in the application folder. If not, it's not portable (settings aren't portable).

Midas on 2014-01-14 10:07

Settings aren't really portable, but in view of their number and the nature of the program, that's not really an issue, IMHO...
