64bit available on download page, see https://foobar.hyv.fi/2.0/?sort=modified&dir=r for 64bit components. 32bit will not work.

Ennovy on 2023-04-26 16:12

@PAFuser: added the 64bit downloadlink, thanks.

freakazoid on 2023-06-10 00:59

PSA: For older users, use the 32-bit version of v2.0 for now.

v1.6 was 32-bit only and v2.0 has a 64-bit version. I upgraded to the 64-bit version of v2.0 and found that most of my custom components stopped working because the component does not have a 64-bit version yet.

Easiest way to get everything working again is to use the 32-bit version of v2.0 until all your favorite components have a 64-bit version.

robertcollier4 - The Regshot2 you are posting about is a different app. It's either a totally different freeware app that copied the layout or an app illegally using the real Regshot's code as a base and not distributing the newer source as required by the GPL. Either way, this entry is about the real Regshot, which is open source, Unicode, portable and has 32-bit and 64-bit versions (the PortableApps.com version even switches between them automatically). It's also under active development unlike 'RegShot2' which is abandoned.

CyberShredder v1.12

webfork on 20 Dec 2016
  • 490KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 20 Sep 2008
  • Suggested by M. Maltbia

CyberShredder is an easy to use, drag-and-drop way to delete files and folders from your computer permanently. While normal file deletion remove a file's directory entry and allocation table information, the actual disk clusters that contained the file's data remains intact on your hard disk and can be recovered. CyberShredder overwrites the space occupied from a file with random data and then erases the file, so recovery tools cannot recover it.

Although the "very quick" shred should be more than adequate for most users, there are multi-pass methods available that overwrite the file multiple times.

Warning: Some users have reported issues when wiping directories with non-English characters in them.

How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch CyberShredder.exe.
What's new?
  • Quicker abort, abandons operation even at the end of a file operation.
  • File operation progress gauge, shows progress of each file operation (pass).
  • Renames file multiple (26) times, not just once.
  • Remembers form position.

@webfork. Sorry, only just saw this post. I don`t have a copy of that folder anymore as I`ve moved to a new laptop. Sorry.

Herki on 2014-06-18 12:57

I had precisely the same issue as hamasaki above - tried to drag and drop a folder that contained asian characters in its name and, to my horror, found Cybershredder began a rampage through a completely unrelated area of my hard drive.

From what I can tell, and this tallies with hamasaki's experience *if* he had placed the cybershredder.exe in 'program files', the glitch redirects the shred request to contents of the the folder one level above the folder in which cybershredder.exe is placed.

No idea why this happens, but be warned!

@jimdorey: v5.3 works fine on my win 10 x64 using a 1080p screen resolution. Maybe you're using a high DPI screen/4k monitor, and only the last version (8.4, payware, but worth every penny) works fine in that case.

not portable on 2009-06-18 11:13

I can attest to what Chlind said.

ClipX is not portable at all (at least if you use the sticky plugin).

It would run without any apparent problem but it didn't continue to capture new clips.

Sadly, the sticky plugin is a must have for me (I think it should be built-in instead of a plugin)

Nick on 2010-03-26 15:45

ClipX pastes text in the beginning of the current window, not in the place where cursor is. At least when it's called with a hotkey. This feature make the application useless. It's very sad...
