Webfork, HFS does provide upload features...

LeanPocket on 2009-10-06 19:51

marcoc, not ftp, web based only.

webfork on 2009-12-24 16:37

Although a great program to transfer a few files over the network, this program failed when transferring very large (over a gig) files over a network. I recommend instead Filezilla Server included in XAMPP (http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1069.

nice and easy ftp server with all the necessary features. +++

Webfork on 2007-08-06 18:12

Working link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ftpserv

This project has not been updated since late 2003. This *may* mean there are unpatched security vulnerabilities. Use at your own risk or for temporary transfers. Consider the super-simple Baby FTP Server
http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=449 or the non-portable Filezilla Server http://filezilla.sf.net

Orme on 2010-12-04 07:59

In fact, as a long-time user of TypSoft FTP server for quick temporary transferts, I reverted to version 1.00 because 1.10 and the short lived 1.11 patch ( TypSoft site was hijacked shortly after its release ) had problems if you did not have a genuine FTP client for browsing, while 1.00 still allows explorers and firefoxes as clients.

DirHTML (https://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=308) is yet another choice...

vmars316 on 2024-04-06 14:06

There is no longer a Free version , $9 or $29 , versions.

Midas on 2024-04-06 16:24

@vmars: that is true... but also old news. If read the Note at the entry's end, you'll notice TPFC is linking an old v0.9.1 from LupoPensuite.

I am pretty ticked off at this program. I installed it, and did not like it at all. Tried to UNinstall it, and very tough. It's not on the Windows menu, no where in the XP add / remove control panel. I am using Norton, which will hopefully uninstall all of it from the registry.

Until there is an easy way to uninstall this program, absolutely beware.

Uh, Jon? *None* of the programs listed on this site can be uninstalled; you just delete them when you don't want them any more.

chint2 on 2010-01-26 23:24

uh, Pikadude, FreeCommander can be uninstalled. Shows up in the control panel and has an uninstall routine. Beware of Alt Commander. Do not trust a program that does not offer uninstall or document what was done in the installation process.

An excellent basic HTML editor for new and intermediate Web page authors. Although the program has a few bugs here and there, it is easily one of the best free (non-text only) Web page editors available. Its cross-platform nature (windows, linux, mac) means you'll be able to edit your files no matter where you are.

Because NVU was never updated after its initial creation, a successor with some bug fixes and additional features is the also portable KompoZer: http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1209

his is a great program. While set up to easly open and edit html files, I found I can also open and edit asp pages as well. I really like how it color codes the html on the source view page

The application is now named as "KompoZer"
